Baby Baby

If you haven't already figured it out...the newest member of our family arrived on October 30th, beautiful Lydia Mae. Everything is going great so far and we are so happy to have a sister for Addie.

It seems that my "to do" list keeps getting longer and longer so I have decided to take a little time off until after the holidays. Be on the lookout for some new additions to the site when things begin to settle down after Christmas. I may even have a few items for the tiniest girls in your life (under 6 mo. sizes!).

"Maternity Leave"--Order Deadlines

My due date is quickly approaching and I have decided that I need to set a few deadlines for placing orders so I don't get overwhelmed! I will take Halloween and Fall orders until October 1st and Christmas orders may be placed from now until December 1st. If you place a Christmas order between mid-October and mid-November, please be patient and know that we have a new baby in the house and I will get to your order as soon as possible and in time for the holidays. If you need something for pictures that will be taken before Christmas, please place your order soon so I can be sure to get it to you in time!

Thanks for being understanding with me as we begin to prepare our home for a new life! I will keep everyone updated on the new arrival :)

Christmas in September

Finally!!! I have all the Christmas goodies on the website as of this evening! I only wish I could show more close up pictures on the site, so I've added them all here and you can enlarge them by clicking on them. I will certainly begin taking orders on these immediately and please know that I will work hard to get them done in a timely manner, but as soon as baby comes my time will surely be limited so be patient with me. I will accept orders post-baby arrival too, just might take me a bit longer to get things done :)

Ready, Set....Shop!

Ok, I just finished adding the new fall goodies to the website (*WHEW*). If you want to find them quickly without having to navigate the different categories, go straight to "New Items" and you'll see them on pages 1 and 2. Please note that the fall/Halloween items are priced separately, not as complete outfits. I am not making any promises, but I have a few more things in mind that might be added eventually depending on my time :) I'll keep ya posted!

Christmas items are coming VERY SOON, I can promise you that. I may just add them as I get them finished so keep checking back.

Isn't this picture too cute! I think she looks like a little vintage babydoll my mom might have had growing up in her short dress and Mary Janes!

A Sneak Peek for Fall

Fall outfits are on the way! I am just finishing up a few things and then they will be ready to add to the site....so keep checking back! I will post on here when they are all "up for grabs." I may add a few more if I'm not swamped with orders (which wouldn't be a bad problem ;) Lots of the fabrics are limited, but I can always order more if time permits before baby arrives in late Oct./early Nov.

Christmas outfits will also be coming in the next few weeks so when you see what you like, please order early so I can get started before I am extremely sleep deprived and baby-focused.

Here is a peek at a few things for fall...

Yummy Watermelons

This comfy little shorts set is perfect for the hot days ahead! You'll get this adorable watermelon slice appliqued tank or tee with the matching watermelon ruffle shorts. Cute, cute, cute! Depending on the size you need, I have both tanks and tees available. Please make sure you check to see if the shirt style is available in the size you want before choosing tank or tee on the website. Again, please remember to email me before or after your purchase to clarify the outfit and size choice! Thanks!!!

Just a reminder that the summer sale is still going on and there are lots of outfits OUT OF STOCK, I am happy to say. You can always order a size larger for next year for your little one! I have already started making Addie some 2T clothes for next spring before jumping into all my new fall fabric!

Ice Cream Sundaes

Here is one of the new outfits I mentioned in the last post. YUMM-O! The Ice Cream Sundaes outfit includes the best kind of twirl skirt...one with built in pantaloons for your active girly! Addie plays hard in this one, never showing her "undies." So no more worrying about your pretty girl doing cartwheels in her skirt, this solves that problem for sure.

I do not have the fabric in stock because I didn't want to have an overabundance if no one orders, BUT I will certainly order it if you'd like this one for your summer sweetie. I only have tees in sz. 18-24m (runs big and may fit a small 2T) and 4T (would work for a 3T also). The fabric for the pantaloons may vary as well as the vintage buttons on the shirt. This set is $38 for all of the available sizes.

HUGE SUMMER SALE!!!

Wow, it's been a month since my last post!!! It's been a crazy, busy summer and it's finally time for a HUGE SALE! All spring and summer items must go to make room for my recently purchased fall and winter fabric. My sewing room is way too chaotic for me to think and I need some of that fabric OUT OF THERE pronto! There's plenty of warm weather to come (at least here in Indiana) so please take advantage of this sale...just about everything is marked down 25-50% and sizes and availability are limited so HURRY! Click on "Sale Items" when you get to my website to start shopping! www.junebug-creations.com

Also, I have been having issues with my website not letting me know by email that a purchase has been made so PLEASE make sure to email me before or after making a purchase to let me know what you ordered and the size. I'll get any sizing details I need from you following your email.

Oh and be on the lookout for 2 newbies coming soon, "Yummy Watermelons," and "Ice Cream Sundaes." I'll post them here as soon as I take the pictures :) Thanks so much and I hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Bye-bye Paypal Widget

The Paypal Widget is no longer with us on the blog...that's because from now on, if you would like to place an order, you can go to:
www.junebug-creations.com
Please let me know if you have any question about the site, it should be much easier than purchasing on the blog.
Yay!
That's all!

It's Finally Here!!!

Don't get too excited, but my website is finally ready for your eyes! It's no where near perfect and I'm sure I'll be making changes galore in the upcoming weeks, but I thought I'd go ahead and introduce the new and improved way to buy your Junebug clothing!
www.junebug-creations.com

I also have a new email to go along with the website, but I will still check my insight account for a while. If you'd like to contact me about an order or just have a question, please use this email: jessalyn@junebug-creations.com

I still only have the 6 outfits for sale, but my hope is to get a few more added in the next month. We will be on a short vacation from 5/7 to 5/12 so I will not be sewing again until next week. Please do not place any clothing orders while I'm gone...but don't hesitate to email me and I'll respond as soon as I return.

One more thing...I will keep the blog going to let you know about new items or sales, kind of like a newsletter.
I hope you all enjoy the new look!

A Few Notes...

OK, the new outfits have been added to the Paypal widget on the right of the screen and I had a few difficulties with the size inventory. If you don't see the size you want in the choices, chances are it wouldn't let me add it. You can always just choose another size (in the correct size-price range of course) and drop me an email letting me know which size you really want.

Let's talk shipping... I have found out with other orders that it works best to ship First Class when I'm shipping only 1 or 2 outfits, which just costs you $3.00. Three or more outfits should ship in a Priority Mail flat rate box for $4.60. If you go overboard and purchase 6 or more outfits from me at once, shipping will be on me! Woohoo! That would be great, wouldn't it?

And oh yes, the prices. All of the prices in the Paypal widget include Indiana sales tax so PLEASE let me know if you are out of state BEFORE you purchase something so I can set up a special listing for you :)

I think that's it for now. It's been a busy Monday around here and the rain is 'a comin'!
Happy Shopping!

Quilt Show Time!

Whoopidy Doo! The annual Quilt Show in Paducah, KY is next week and Addie and I are heading down to spend the week with my mom and aunt. My hopes are high that I will get tons of projects done, including some new outfits for sale.

I just wanted to warn anyone who might be thinking of placing an order for either of the two outfits that are for sale right now...if you want one, I will promise to get it done while I'm down there, but I must receive an email from you before this coming Friday, the 18th. I won't be taking any orders while I'm gone simply because I won't have access to a computer, but as soon as I return (with new outfits in tow) I will be right back in business!

Remember, I will be gone from about April 21st to April 26th. Can't wait to share the newbies when I get back!

Exciting News!

First of all, let me apologize for not having anything new for sale for a bit. Here's the reason: I am about 11 weeks pregnant and have been SUPER tired and feeling kinda yucky the last few weeks! Yes, that's right, baby Knight #2 will make an appearance at the beginning of November...so I guess I better get some Thanksgiving and Christmas things made this summer! OH NO!

I think once I get over the first trimester "blahs," I will be in much better shape to spend every free moment in my sewing room :) I have all this fabric seeping from the cracks and no motivation to do something with it all. I know very soon, I will be back up to snuff and things will pick up again. I am so excited to get some fun springy/summery projects made up!

I have also been working on my website a lot, which takes time and patience, both of which I am running low. I just have to say that I can't wait to let you all in on what's in progress--hopefully that will be sometime soon :)
Have a terrific weekend everyone!

Big Changes In the Making...

Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post. I have decided to just go for it and start up a website, so it is in the making right now! Hopefully it will be up and running in the next few weeks (no promises though!). I will be SURE to let you all know when it can be accessed. I will most likely keep the blog going, just because I enjoy writing and it could act as sort of a "newsletter" type thingy. Besides, I have about 85 business cards left with the blog site printed on them :)
Also, I wanted to add that one of the outfits for sale is "SOLD OUT" as you can see over there in the paypal store. YAY!!!!! Thanks, Whitney, for making my day :)

Needing Some Input

Howdy! After a week of no responses to the things on the blog that are actually "for sale," I have decided to look more closely into setting up a website. Before I jump into that, I'd love to hear some input from my potential customers, or anyone who speaks English for that matter.

*Do you think it would help me get more orders if I had a website, which would be much easier to navigate than the blog?

*Would you like to see pre-made outfits in many different sizes for sale?

*Do you like the idea of being able to see a type of outfit and then choose the fabric you want?

My issue with going for the website is the fact that I have only 1 order in process and I'm worried about putting a bunch of money into a website and then it not making a difference. I do believe this all takes lots of time to get going and I'm trying my hardest to be patient and go with the slow-flow, but I want to make sure I am making life easy for my customers in the process.

I would love to hear from anyone out there! You can either email me, junebugcreations@insightbb.com, or comment to this post. Thanks in advance for your help!

Another Item For Sale!

Hot off the sewing machine! This cute little sundress will be custom made to fit your little darling and will grow with her through the years. I made Addie's kind of long so she'll be able to fit into it next year as well. And when it's too short to be a dress, it can be worn over jeans as a babydoll top!
Prices:
6m-2T: $35
3T-6: $40
Quantities are limited so place your order now!

Monday, March 24, 2008

Wowsa! PayPal is HERE!!

Oh dear, what have I gotten myself into! Since I am actually offering some things "for sale," I thought it might be nice to go for it and try out the cute little paypal widget (see him over there, isn't he cute!). PLEASE be patient with me if you wish to use this method...I'm sure it's not difficult, but since I am so new at it, I will have to consult my wonderful, helpful friend Lisa before I go goofing up anyone's order!
Fiddle around with it and you'll see I have offered options for the Shasta Daisy set (you choose tee or tank) and sizes. Also, note that the shipping is not included in these prices so I will add the actual shipping to your invoice when your order is placed...if you are local, of course I would be glad to deliver it right to your door!
Have fun, place orders, and happy Spring!!!

Pretty, pretty

I finished this outfit for Addie this weekend and I think it has turned into my new favorite (I tend to think this of everything new I make so you'll probably get this a lot!). I didn't buy a ton of this fabric when we were at Hancocks because I found it right before we were leaving, BUT I know where to get it if anyone is interested. If you want this outfit, I might ask for a "deposit" so I can buy the fabric and then ask for the remainder of the payment when the outfit is complete. This set comes with ruffled capris with an elastic waist and a short sleeve, ruffled peasant top and sash. I will only make one more of this outfit (other than Addie's) so get this beauty while you can! Here are prices for this outfit:
Sizes 6m-2T: $55 (deposit of $15)
Sizes 3T-6: $62 (deposit of $20)
AND I know right where you can get a matching bow: www.faithworksboutique.com

Remember, you can click on the pictures to enlarge them to see more detail.

FOR SALE!

Alright, here is another outfit for sale...

Adorable little Shasta Daisy set that comes with ruffled capris with elastic waist and your choice of appliqued tee or tank. SO fun for spring and summer! I do not have the shirts in stock, so it may take a week or two to get this outfit to you, but I promise it will be worth your wait! I had so much fun throwing this one together and it turned out darling. See more pictures below. You'll notice the prices are a little less than my estimates in the price list, but this fabric was marked down so you get a better deal!

Here are the prices:
Sizes 6m-2T: $35
Sizes 3T-6: $40

Quantities are limited so buy yours now! (I have enough fabric to make 2-3 more outfits, depending on which sizes are ordered first).

Please email me at: junebugcreations@insightbb.com to place your order!

I'm Hardly Containing Myself!

Let me preface this by saying that a wonderful member of my family passed away this past Tuesday, Jennie dog, and this week has been very sad and slow, to say the least. So mom and I were looking for a major pick-me-up on Wednesday and we jumped in the car with Addie and headed for a last minute road trip to Paducah, Kentucky. For those of you who don't know, Paducah is the home of the annual quilt show AND has one of the most wonderful fabric stores I've ever been to--Hancocks. It's like walking into fabric Heaven! I got to actually see and touch all the beautiful fabric I oooo and ahhhh over on the internet every day! I have a LOT of work ahead of me and here is a taste of what's to come...

My personal favorites!
Fresh Strawberries :)
Pink and Brown anyone?

We'll save the rest for a surprise...you'll just have to check back as I get some things made up and finally ready to sell!!! I'm beside myself thinking of all the possibilities for these beauties :) Who knew fabric could make a girl (and her mom and her daughter) so happy!

Purple!

I was so excited to try out this new stripwork dress/top pattern I got a few weeks ago and my mom generously donated a stack of beautiful purple fabric for me to get it done. When I finished it (the first time) it was almost down to the floor when I tried it on Addie. SOOOOO....after becoming best friends with my seam ripper and shortening it quite a bit, here is the final product. (Not the best pictures because Addie has on her jammies underneath, but I couldn't wait any longer to get these on here!). Of course something like this could be a dress or a long babydoll-style top with matching pants or jeans. It could also be worn in the winter with long sleeves or summer with nothing (well, bloomers underneath!).

Pricing and Payment

PRICES:
I know some of you may be outraged at my asking prices and think they are way too high. Here is a little bit of how I came up with these estimates:
*I did spent lots of time researching ebay, etsy, and many other online "boutique" clothing stores and tried to stay somewhere in the middle of everyone's prices. Having Addie around for 14 months, I have done my share of ebay shopping and peeking at boutique clothing on the internet and I must say that my prices are very fair compared to some (I'm talking over $100 for outfits just like the ones I make!).
*I only use very high quality, 100% cotton fabrics for my clothing. I buy from online quilt/fabric shops and very rarely use any fabric from places such as JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby. And having had some experience with quilting (and it being in my genes), I feel very confident in my ability to color match and come up with fabrics that coordinate and compliment one another.
*Everything I create is made carefully, with lots of attention to detail. All of the seams are serged to prevent fabric from fraying (if you're not sure what this is...just check out the inner seams of any store bought clothing and you'll see what I'm talking about).
*My time is very valuable to me! Along with the cost of the materials to make each outfit, I must give myself something for my time. And although it's not much, I feel it is only fair to pay myself for the time I'm spending in my sewing room (not watching Oprah or eating bon bons!). Christopher says that if I'm not going to get all the household chores accomplished in a day, at least I could be making a little money!
PAYMENT:
I have been playing around with this wonderful little Paypal widget (who knows what that is?) for a while now and I'm excited to be able to accept payment through paypal on my blog very soon! But while I'm working out the kinks with the widget-guy, I would gladly accept cash or check (good checks only please :)
Don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you will receive an update when I do finally set up the Paypal widget!!!
Enough of my babble! Have a wonderful day!

A Couple New Things

Yes, it snowed 4-5 inches here this past Friday so I took it upon myself to attempt to get in the mood for Spring yet again (after the teasingly wonderful weather we had last weekend). Since I love making the peasant tops so much, I thought I'd try making a dress. This is some extra fabric I had stashed away from a pants outfit I made Addie in the fall and it turned out so cute! Of course, on a hanger, it looks like it might fit her baby doll, but the elastic stretches and it certainly fits her as you can see. I want to make a few changes to this pattern before I make up any samples to sell, so be on the lookout for a slightly different version coming soon!

This next outfit is one I've been wanting to make up for a long time now with some red and blue fabric I got a few months ago. As you may have noticed, I am kind of into the vintage look and I like using prints inspired by the 1930s. Addie wore this to church this morning and it was quite comfy. I am so excited about it because I actually sewed in my clothing labels on the top and pants and it looks so "official" now! I don't have any more of this fabric, but if anyone is interested in this exact outfit, I know right where to get more and it would probably get here quick!
